Title: The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time

Main Character: Christopher Boone

Author: Mark Haddon

Genre:  Mystery Novel, Fiction, Family Drama, Children Book,

This is my first Mark Haddon’s book and I must say that I really enjoyed reading this one. It only took me two days to finish this book… and I want another round! LOL. This book is quite unique and interesting especially since this was narrated from a 15 year old point of view who happens to have Autism.

Synopsis:

The story revolves around Christopher Boone, a 15 year old boy with autism who lives with his Father. The story started when Christopher saw Wellington (a neighbor’s dog) lying on the ground speared with a garden fork. The owner (Mrs. Spears) thought that Christopher was the one who killed her dog and called the police to have him arrested. Unfortunately, Christopher don’t like people touching him, so when the policeman grabbed his arm, he ended up punching him really hard. Once they arrived at the police station, they asked him to surrender all of his belongings and locked him up in a cell. Christopher wasn’t scared, because he happens to like policeman and he knows his father will get him soon.  And after a couple of hours, Christopher heard his father angry voice outside his cell and demanding to get him out immediately. When the police opened his cell and told him that someone is outside and wanting to see him he knows that it is his Father. The police then let him go home but he was warned that he can’t hit policeman or else he will be in a really big trouble next time.

And since Christopher is a big fan of Sherlock Holmes, he decided to do some investigation to find out who killed Wellington. And in his journey, he not only found the answer that almost break him, he also came across some truths that he never expected to happen.

I’m not going to tell what happened or how the book ended, that’s for you to find out.

This book is definitely fun and entertaining.

Goodluck!

Happy reading!
