book review: One Day

by David Nicholls

Twenty Years. Two People

This is a story about Dex and Emma who grew up together, but it took them years to admit that they both want to be in each other arms.

I was actually excited to read this book, maybe because of the idea that it made it to the big screen (starring Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess). Usually with book this thin… i can finish it in 2-3 days, but this one took almost my whole week. So yeah, maybe because i don’t like it. hahaha. To be honest, i found the pacing so slow and boring. I don’t even know where i got my energy to finish this book, and to add that this one don’t even have a happy ending as consolation since Emma died from a road accident at the last part of the story.

And to be fair, i have friends who felt the same way too about this novel. They even said that the movie is way better than the book (first time).

P.S: I would not recommend this book to anyone. hahaha
